its umbrella: The International Learning Center, the American
Gemological Learning Center, and Balzan’s Gemological and Jewelry
Laboratory. The International Learning Center (ILC) administers
seminars and short classes to the gem and jewelry trade. It also
administers the diamond grading and gemological identification classes
for the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, in addition to regularly
instructing jewelry diplomats from many countries in gemology,
jewelry, and valuation sciences.

The American Gemological Learning Center (ATC) is an allied teaching
center for the Gemological Association and Gem Testing Laboratory of

Balzan’s Gemological and Jewelry Laboratory apprentices gemologists
and jewelers in the art of quality control. To participate, students
must be advanced in gemology and jewelry theory and practice. A one-
year contract is required.
